Running From Cameras
The rules are simple: I put the self-timer on 2 seconds, push the button and try to get as far from the camera as I can.
I have alwyas been fascinated with self portraits. The actual act of having to pose in front of your own camera is incredibly difficult. At what point does it become too much?? Really i just like the absurd concept behind these shots. They also depict his surroundings nicely.

I find this to be one of the most compelling concrete buildings i have seen. The juxtaposition of the floating end, combined with the immense weight created by the lack of windows and immense concrete makes the building literally poised to tip over. If there was such a thing as capturing the moment before the collapse or the moment before somethings falls, this building could not have captured it better.

For pretty much my entire life i have wanted the ability to fly. Jan Von Holleben makes this dream a reality. I don't really want to say too much about them because i think the best part is they simply make you smile. Enjoy.

"As I was leaving the painting studio late one night, I realized that the shadow shed by a lone, abandoned bike had been carefully traced in chalk. A few steps further, the shadows of Green Library’s bollards were outlined, as were the tress outside the Education Building. Perhaps most stunningly, as a result of numerous light sources around MemAud, the multiple shadows cast by one lamppost had all been traced, a radiating starburst of orange and yellow emanating from the lone pole.
During the day, the lines were nothing but a muddled, incoherent jumble of a chalking-gone-wrong, but at night, they became magical, Pan’s Labyrinth-esque creations — each chalked shadow was just as wonderful to discover as the next. The tracings were captivating, and it had me scouring the ground for evenings on end, not to mention contemplating a late-night sting operation to expose the nocturnal Shadow Chalker’s true identity."

Things to think about:
“The approval of the public is to be avoided like the plague. It is absolutely essential to keep the public from entering if one wishes to avoid confusion. I must add that the public must be kept panting in expectation at the gate by a system of challenges and provocations.” -Andre Breton
"What is most admirable in the fantastic is that the fantastic doesn't exist; all is real." -Andre Breton
"It is living and ceasing to live which are imaginary solutions. Existence is elsewhere."
-Andre Breton
“We shall not have succeeded in demolishing everything unless we demolish the ruins as well. But the only way I can see of doing that is to use them to put up a lot of fine, well-designed buildings.” -Alfred Jarry
